I am a highly experienced senior solution architect with extensive skills in software development. I am currently the Director of Software Solutions (Europe) at Checkpoint Systems where I lead a talented team of developers and architects to customize, integrate and stand-up our transformative retail and supply chain software solutions that utilize RFID technology.I thrive on engaging with customers to capture their requirements in order to create robust solutions that will generate substantial business benefit. A large part of my role is detailing the complex integration requirements and I have a wealth of experience in estimating resources and costs for customization and integration complexities. I also provide an integral link between our European customers and our offshore development teams. Java is my favourite language and I have recently completed innovative projects that include a micro service that interacts with a Mongo database, various REST interfaces for our SaaS solution and a web application built with spring boot to run as an Azure website. I am also an expert in developing SQL to run against SQL Server and Oracle. I also have responsibility for our companies JPOS and OPOS device drivers.I also have 5+ years of cloud experience (mainly with Microsoft Azure). I have been instrumental in working with our team to take a monolithic on-prem software application to a cloud hosted version and finally to a full SaaS solution. My cloud experience covers VPNs, virtual networks, DR, Event Hubs, Azure SQL and running applications in the cloud.Through working with many of the largest retailers across Europe I have gained extensive knowledge of retail processes in store, GS1 standards, retail supply chains and UPOS retail standards.
