About Simon Ponce

Passionate about empowering Afro-descendant communities, I founded AfroMusikas to support AfroColombians in preserving and showcasing their rich ancestral culture through arts and education. Our initiative organization is dedicated to providing a platform for artistic expression and educational opportunities, celebrating the vibrant traditions of Afro-Colombian culture.With a strong commitment to being led by Afro-descendant individuals, AfroMusikas aims to make a positive impact in the community by promoting cultural heritage and fostering a sense of pride and identity. I am driven by the belief that empowering minorities to share their stories and traditions enriches our global cultural landscape.I have always enjoyed doing hands-on work that contributes to the social and economic changes I desire for myself and others. I have developed a fondness for analyzing, organizing, and project management. My previous experience as a field manager has equipped me with the skills to be a leader and an asset in conflict resolution.
