As a full-time English to Danish translator and language expert, I was part of a team that would perform language tasks for texts of all sizes and deliver them before a deadline.Our tasks included translation, transcreation, LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance), proofreading, and more.The majority of our tasks were performed using CAT tools such as Memoq, Memsource (Phrase), Smartling, XTM, Smartcat, and Transifex. However, many tasks also required adapting to the workflows of each individual client. These tasks could vary from reviewing Google Sheets to being part of group projects in Jira to performing linguistic reviews in client software or in client-specific webtools.For these tasks, it was vital to adhere to complex multi-step workflows with the utmost care and to have clear and professional communication with project managers.For my tasks, I would be translating UI, marketing, consumer documentation, and knowledge bases for both antivirus software and creative design apps. I was also translating hardware specifications and marketing material for PC and Apple accessories, as well as their accompanying software.I performed translation and LQA tasks for product notifications for an online payment platform, technical manuals for home appliances and factory equipment, instructions for beauty products, and user guides for streaming services.
