Simon is an expert in M&A (private and public), equity capital markets and general corporate advisory work. Simon regularly advises in connection with takeovers, schemes of arrangement and private M&A transactions. He also regularly advises on fundraisings including IPOs, rights issues, ANREOs and placements acting for both issuers and JLMs/underwriters.Simon spent 4 years working in London where he advised corporates and investment banks including, among others, advising the underwriters on the US$15.2 billion rights issue by Rio Tinto plc and Rio Tinto Limited (the first ever rights issue by a DLC) and advising Lonmin plc on its successful defence of a £5.6 billion takeover by Xstrata plc.Simon has worked on a number of significant transactions, both public and private including:* Mineral Resources on its $503 million hostile scip takeover bid of Norwest Energy NL which was subsequently recommended by the board* IMDEX Limited on its $224m equity raising (consisting of a fully underwritten $221m ANREO and institutional placement, and a $3m conditional placement) to fund the acquisition of Devico AS* OZ Minerals in relation to its $9.6 billion acquisition by BHP by way of scheme of arrangement* Firefinch Limited on its proposed $130 million recapitalisation* Altrad Australia on the acquisition of Ausgroup in Australia* Sezzle Inc. in relation to its $491 million all-scrip merger with ZipCo Limited
