Paramedics Urgences-santé has close to 1,700 employees, 1,000 paramedics, 270,000 interventions per year, 390,000 calls per year, 1 health communication center, 3 operational centers, 1 training center and 1 headquarters serving 18 emergency rooms, 1 international airport, 1 metro and 2.5 million inhabitants in the territories of Montreal and Laval. Urgences-santé is a mobilized organization focused on quality, safety and innovation and also part of one of the largest pre-hospital emergency organizations that treats more than 40% of all emergency calls in Quebec. In addition are leaders in pre-hospital emergency research with around twenty ongoing collaborative studies.Role and Responsibilities• Respond to emergency calls such as sudden illness, accidents (automobile, industrial, etc.), building collapses and natural disasters• Provide emergency medical care or care in route to other medical facilities• Use proper techniques for first aid, medical treatments, etc.• Transport the patients to the required hospital or other medical facilities for further medical care as appropriate• Educate the public on health and safety issuesRequired Skills• Demonstrated interpersonal skills• Strong observational and listening skills• Ability to confidently assess and appropriately manage ambiguous and/or emergency situations• Write and submit concreate and accurate reports on incidents • Verbal and written proficiency in English and French
