I also have primary responsibility for ECMWF's unstructured long-term archive, ECFS.Since September 2021, I have been the acting team leader for the Production Services team, which has responsibility for developing software components to handle all data before and after ECMWF's primary forecast model. This includes data aquisition, dissemination, ingestion into the computational models, high-performance model output and post-processing.

In May 2014 the Transmission Education team won the software stream of the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs Society £5K business plan competition.

Postdoctoral Research FellowMax Planck Intitute For Solid State Research Oct 2013 - Oct 2015I developed novel Monte-Carlo based computational methods (based on chance) to model the behaviour of electrons, and particularly their applicability on massively parallel computational resources. This followed on from work carried out during my PhD.In 2014 the novel modifications I made increased the speed of our area of computational chemistry by at least an order of magnitude.I also particularly enjoyed negotiations with IBM, and other suppliers, for purchasing a €1m supercomputer for the Max Planck society.
