- Development of new gas appliances through all key stages, including: Product conception, specification, research and development, prototype building, monitoring of field trial units, full product CE approvals, through to full productionisation.- Responsible for maintaining the CE certification though-out all product ranges. Ensure new and existing appliances meet current standards and are approved under the CE scheme.- Perform quality audits of products and analysis of returned product, to identify areas of quality improvement.- Production of Installation, Operation & Service manuals and technical guidance notes for all appliances.- Provide product training for sales representatives, installers and engineers, through classroom based workshops, both in house and at customer sites.- Provide technical support to customers, both on the phone and by visiting sites.

- Provide technical advice to consultants and installers. Seeking solutions to unique issues via site visits or simulation in the factory.- Driving continual improvement in the quality of products and service. Utilising and managing the Quality Management System (ISO9001 certified) to target under-performing components and customer service failures.- Represent the interests of Roberts Gordon at industry seminars and regulation committees. Provide an in depth knowledge of industry legislation and ensure that products are technologically advanced in time to meet planned changes.- Maintaining the CE certification of all products. Ensure new products and product improvements meet current standards and are approved under the CE scheme. - Support the research and development of products by facilitating local development projects. Ensuring technical progression in items such as control systems and electrical efficiency. - Delivering custom training packages for Installers and new customers, to domestic and overseas clients.

- Service, installation and breakdown duties on a range of heating equipment from small condensing boilers to large heat treatment furnaces. - Thorough “health check” performed on medical group clinics and hospitals, from the 500kw boilers, right down to the radiator valves. Ensuring controls systems are operating effectively, programming of control systems including trend and bespoke BMI systems where necessary.- Training of maintenance staff on site at care homes, ensuring staff understand how to operate their heating system and what to do in the event of component failure.- CORGI Gas and OFTEC oil engineer – Installation of commercial gas and oil heating equipment.- Commissioning of gas burners, controls and pipe work on completion of a new installation.- Managed programme for the replacement of defective and obsolete control equipment for Birmingham Schools.- Breakdown cover for a wide range of commercial heating applications, including solar energy systems.- Service and assessment of commercial heating systems, recommending repairs and energy saving improvements where necessary.

- Obtain funds and commissions totalling £250m from the receivers (KPMG) of Independent Energy. Negotiating with the receivers when information from accounts and other systems is not readily available. Ensuring claims are reconciled against muliple bank accounts.- Daily analysis of debt recovery progress, seeking solutions to problem areas by prioritising resources into tackling accounts with the highest potential return values. - Ensuring systems and processes are in place to facilitate the analysis and reporting requirements of the business against key performance indicators.- Responsible for working capital, banking and Cash Flow reporting on a daily basis, reporting the debtor position to Group on a weekly basis, explaining any significant variances from target. Monthly debtor reporting for accounts.

- Monthly and quarterly reporting for Business Controller and Agency’s Directors. Communicating/Presenting information to Directors in a clear and informative manner for decision making purposes.- Analysis of financial and non-financial performance of the business against planned target/budgets. Providing timely information, such as risk assessment, trends, efficiency variances and full life cost implications.- Responsible for all management information requirements for £800million of business projects. Responsibility for co-ordinating the development of systems to collect and report performance for these projects. - Development of performance indicators and Management Team plans for present and future business needs
