Following a successful client tender BNP Paribas Securities Service embarked on a large scale transition, involving the integration of over 1000 funds and migrating 70 billion AUD of assets under management into its strategic IT platform. The transition involves major operational and IT changes across multiple business lines for three AXA business.

As the Head of the IT Service Delivery department I was ultimately responsible for the on-going support of the production IT platforms and solutions; my team supported all the business lines in Australia, New Zealand and functions outsourced to our Chennai office. This service covered the following areas; Access Control, Application Support, Business.

Reporting to the Head of Service Delivery, I was responsible for all production releases, database & UNIX administration, IT capacity management, and production IT security. The role involved hands on technical work as well as the management of the Technical Support team consisting of four database and UNIX administrators. I was given this role to increase.

I was recruited into this position to increase the technical capability of the team, after a short period of time I was promoted into the role of Technical Lead and given the opportunity of managing the team.

Promoted into the role of Group Data Manager, I was ultimately responsible for all production database and exchange servers across the group, together with database administration duties I was also responsible for all data retention, backup and archive policies.

My role covered two main areas; as well as performing the role of the Group Database Administrator; I was also extensively involved in project work across the group, specifically the rollout of new products and IT solutions. My responsibilities included comprehensive Database Administration for all SQL Servers across the group, including replication.

Responsible for Database Administration for all SQL Servers environments (development, test and production). Involved in product development and implemented a comprehensive reporting strategy using DTS Packages and TSQL Stored Procedures.
