I founded Methods Analytics in 2013, evolving to help public and private sector clients solve complex problems and do good things.From problem identification, data management and data science, to visualisation, interpretation and the delivery of actionable intelligence, solutions across the entire data lifecycle.The company was sold to Alten Group in 2022.

The Methods’ Insight Analytics team has grown out of the East Midlands Quality Observatory, an NHS team that, from 2009 – 2013, worked as part of NHS East Midlands and latterly NHS Midlands and East SHA to use data and information sourced locally and nationally to inform front line clinicians and the public about variation in the quality and outcomes of care so that improvements can be made. We have taken this opportunity to shift and evolve this service and translate ourselves into the private sector in order to take advantage of the exciting possibilities that the new health and care transparency agenda brings. Methods’ Insight Analytics Team comprises a highly qualified and experienced group of information and healthcare specialists focused on the provision of strategic intelligence around quality and safety of care for the healthcare market in the UK. We work with a wide range of clients in the NHS and academia. Our vision is to deliver actionable knowledge on population provision and healthcare provider clinical performance, to provide the public, commissioners, providers, and policy makers with comparable, transparent intelligence to make decisions on. We are able to analyse the quality of healthcare services, making comparisons, assessing change over time and providing credible insight on the local context. We use the latest research methods, and a wide range of information sources and tools to ensure that our information is robust and evidence based. We work closely with healthcare professionals and the public to understand the type of intelligence they need from us. We will provide a range of standard analysis free to everyone. We will also provide specifically commissioned bespoke analysis and services as well as specialised information products that will be available on a subscription basis. Our consulting service integrates with the wider Methods healthcare consulting team to offer insight driven projects.

Leads and manages Mott Macdonald's team, within health and social care, developing and interpreting information to create intelligence, actionable knowldege, to support improvement. Primary focus for the last few years has been the quality agenda and outcome measurement, working with SHAs, PCTs, provider Trusts and DH workstreams. Also involved in work looking at cost effectiveness of care and clinical economics, policy and system structure relating to quality and value.

Management consulant solely working in the healthcare field. Recently focused on the quality and effectiveness arena, working at local, regional and national level to assist in the measurement of clinical quality and the use of this information to develop insight that enables change to improve the quality of care and productivity. Previous work includes clinical economic modelling of heathcare pathways to inform commissioners of the impact of planned pathway changes, modelling clinical outcome, workforce and financial impact, acute sector process change using BPR/Lean methodology, commercial and public sector benefits realisation focusing largely on health informatics.
