Hello, My name is Simon Way and I'm a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from Cal Poly SLO. I'm looking for a full time position to gain field experience and improve my ability to adapt to new technologies and work with developing systems to continually strive towards the best possible iteration. I am proficient in both Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor Professional, and most forms of fabrication including subtractive manufacturing (mills, lathes, grinders, saws, and Computer Numerated Control machines), and additive methods (carbon fiber epoxy layups).

Operations And Automation Intern
For my second internship at Bionano, I was brought back to continue my work with streamlining the manufacturing process. This work was focused on iterating through multiple designs for alignment fixtures and label application tools. I accomplished this by custom designing fixtures to match the product dimensions using SolidWorks and 3D printing the parts from resin for a robust testing process.
