I started learning to code when I was around 13 when I managed to get hold of a (semi-working) copy of Visual Basic 4. As soon as I created my first bug (and almost smashed the keyboard fixing it) I was hooked. I've studied and worked in IT since that moment and I wouldn't do anything else. As time's gone on, I've found that the aspect I enjoy most is solving system architecture problems although I do still love a proper low level code issue (multi-threading anyone?). Over the past few years I've made inroads into data analysis using machine learning and neural networks. I find the sheer amount of data available now and the opportunities that it could provide very exciting.I've spent the past two years creating a new software company combining my passions in the industry; designing software and data analysis. This has been a challenge, getting involved with new skills such as marketing, sales and contract negotiation, but one I'm thoroughly enjoying.When I'm not working, I'm either playing guitar and recording with my (or anyone else's) band, or attempting to fix yet another unreliable car that seemed like a good idea at the time.
