I have been a police officer for 30 years having retired in July 2021 . I had been a detective for over 20 years.I have been a leader in Lancashire Constabulary for 15 years at Detective Sergeant, Detective Inspector and senior level as a Detective Chief Inspector. I have a vast experience in leading people. I also had significant experience in investigation, intelligence, analytics and public protection. From 2010 to 2013 I was a Detective Sergeant on investigations and public protection and I was involved in strategy discussions with partner agencies including social services involved with family protection safeguarding concerns, investigations into aquisitive crime and involved in a number of complex investigations. I was the Detective Inspector for Crime Reduction, responsible for reducing volume crime in local communties, involving numerous departments across different business areas. I have experience of combining intelligence and information to help predict crime patterns through analysis to allow me as a leader to allocate resources to appropriate areas to help reduce crimes, identify criminal activity and therefore reduce the impact on local communities. I was a BCU Intelligence Manager for a number of years with responsibility for Level 1 and 2 Criminality as described within the National Intelligence Model (NIM)I was Detective Inspector and Intelligence Manager for the Force's Intelligence Bureau before being promoted to a senior management position as a Detective Chief Inspector. My last role as a senior leader within the police force role was head of Intelligence and the Economic Crime Unit. I was responsible for large and diverse teams ensuring we delivered on key performance indicators (KPI) as set locally, regionally and nationally by senior officers and government. I helped deliver key projects, such as new intelligence systems and processes whilst also delivering business models to allow the chief officer teams to invest in my area of responsibility. I am PIP2 qualified and I was qualified to investigation and deal with crimes in action such as kidnaps and blackmail type offences. I also attended a number of leadership courses throughout my career. I am now a Senior Vetting Officer for Lancashire Constabulary. I have responsibility to protect the organisation from outside threats as a result of staff recruitment, whilst managing vetting renewals and changes to vetting levels for internal staff as set out by the College of Policing and Government Codes or Practice.
