I am an award-winning leader and senior consultant with over 30 years’ experience in communications consulting, finance, business and politics. I joined the PR and Communications industry after completing a full time MBA which followed 8 years in international finance and banking, 2 years in politics and 1 year in technology consulting and venture capital. Today, I am the UK CEO of Burson, one of the world’s largest and most progressive global communications consulting companies. As well as leading the management and development of the business day to day, I bring a breadth of experience to my clients and colleagues across Public Relations, Strategic and Corporate Communications, Public Affairs and Capital Markets consulting. I am also Burson’s Global Practice Lead in the Energy and Industrials sector, a member of the global Burson Leadership Team and a member of WPP’s UK ExCo. I am an internationalist who enjoys working at the nexus of media, business and finance and how those disciplines are disrupted and supported by politics, policy and international relations as well as by data and new technologies. I am particularly experienced at solving communications issues around growth, risk and reputation.I thrive building strong teams and businesses focused on growth, efficiency and excellence, particularly across a global network. I believe that finding progressive ways to enable interesting people to grow, collaborate and write their story is the way to win. I am today focused on how to build the best possible communications agency, how to determine what the ingredients are for growth and success in modern day public relations and how to ensure that the business is fit for purpose for clients and can work seamlessly within the broader marketing services industry.
