Extensive experience in delivering managed Software Asset Management service for large companies with configuration items in the tens of thousands; currently Subject Matter Expert for North America for a major multi-national leisure travel company. This includes the standard functions of Software Asset Management to develop a repository of software installs and entitlement, and to keep track of compliance leveraging a range of tools to understand the installed asset estate and licence consumption, identify opportunities for optimization and risk management and collaborating with sourcing teams on portfolio optimization activities.As a SAM consultant much of my focus is on researching, digesting, explaining and applying use rights to the customers' estate to protect compliance in the more three dimensional sense of territory, effective capping of access rights, processor type, partitioning, power limits etc. Additional responsibilities have included coordinating projects between America East and West coast, Canada, India and Poland which has allowed the development of excellent team management skills. Also experience with management of audits; publishers include Quest, Microsoft, VMWare, IBM, Autodesk and Microfocus, leading to development of skills in third party management, gap analysis and stakeholder communication.Experience in producing detailed software inventory of both installed software and entitlement held in the context of relevant metrics and optimized positions for products from a wide range of publishers as well as contributing to strategic reviews to enable strong negotiations for renewals of volume licenses from publishers such as Microsoft, Red Hat and Oracle.
