About Simon Yeadon
Currently I am working as a Business Support Officer for the Digital Services (ICT) branch of Greater Manchester Combined Authority.Previously I was working in administration for Eccles Fire Station. My job involves data input, creating documents such as quarterly reports on Excel, working on audits, procuring and ordering equipment, leading on surveys and collating data and analysing it. In previous jobs I have had a lot of experience working over the telephone. At Salford Royal, I have to input information, check patients information and records, record and check stock levels daily. I also retrieve information on stock levels and find where patients are located (outside of the hospital). Similarly, at Well Pharmacy I had to check stock levels, record them, and retrieve relevant patient information. I have experience in a lot of PC software. I have grown up using Microsoft programmes and email. I have worked a lot with patients who are vulnerable. Throughout my time at Salford Royal I have done a lot of safeguarding training which helped me with this. I frequently dealt with complaints at Well Pharmacy, where patients were upset and angry. It was crucial that I was able to calm them down, usually through reasoning. Throughout my time at Salford Royal, my role has had many changes. This has meant that I am now effectively able to deal with changes, and used to circumstances changing. This has also led to tight deadlines, which although can be stressful, I find I am able to strive in. Alongside my usual work, the NVQ I did had to be completed, which also had deadlines which could be difficult to achieve due to my workload in the job. Again, this was pressure I usually enjoyed. In my last appraisal I received the top rating. I was really pleased with this, as I felt it reflected the effort I put into my job. I believe that putting in 100% means that the job is done better, it is more challenging and I enjoy looking for ways to improve constantly.

I was given large lists of customers shopping which they had bought online, and I was entrusted to go around the stores and collect the items. Here time keeping was vital, as deliveries had time slots so I had to ensure that items were collected with enough time for them to then be delivered. Another part of this role was to decide on substitutions. If someone had bought something which we no longer had in stock, then I would find a suitable item to replace it with so that we offered the best customer service possible. Communication and team work was vital, as there were several people doing this alongside me, and we worked whilst the shop was open to customers.
