These plans comprised an operating turnover in excess of £27m and an annual capital expenditure budget of budget over £10m.I sat on the project board of all projects over £150k in my geographic area and was responsible for supporting the development of investment appraisals and business cases; ensuring financial objectives are achieved with without compromising on environmental or visitor experience objectives.I also sat on the Regional Property Investment Board which approved major projects and acquisitions in the region, updating that board with on the delivery of our capital investment plans and level of risk associated with our financial forecasts.

I managed a team of seven direct reports, responsible for producing the management accounts for the eight regions of The National Trust. The team was established in January 2012 to centralise roles being carried out regionally. I worked to ensure a smooth handover from outgoing members of staff to my team. I also led significant standardisation of practices and streamlining of processes, to reduce the account production cycle.I was the finance systems lead on a project to implement and integrate an operating system at a new visitor centre at the Giants Causeway. This involved working closely with operational and technical staff to ensure that key MI was available to senior management from the opening.

Management accountant within the Transfer Agency division. I was responsible for the preparation of monthly accounts packs for external clients of BNY Mellon, in line with service level agreements, additional support offered to clients as required. I also demonstrated the management accounts service to prospective clients. Responsible for “on-boarding” a number of new clients; working to set up monthly accounts packs and ensure that the service was tailored to the client’s need and that the transfer of supplier runs smoothly from an accounts perspective.

A five month secondment to the Global Operational Control team. Responsible for conducting controls testing, undertaking process reviews and making recommendations to management. Also heavily involved in preparation for an internal audit of one of the UK offices, assisting local management in the identification of key areas for attention and the completion of pre-audit testing.
