Set up in 1998 the consultancy provides Investors in People advice and assessment, business consultancy, training, management development and HR advice to a wide range of clients. My management training and development services include designing and delivering workshops on Investors in People, Business Planning, Leadership, Team Briefing, Employment Law, Recruitment and Selection, Appraisals, Absence Management and Project Management. As a consultant, trainer and Investors in People Adviser I have worked with Investors in People UK, government offices, regional development agencies, a university and a number of London boroughs. Assessment clients across a range of sectors include local government, charities, schools, major construction firms, an international freight carrier, an oil company and a global food and drug company. My Investors in People role is growing to include managing assessor roles for organisations that use internal review and also to be lead assessor on larger projects. A significant strand of the business is around HR Strategy and Personnel Management. This includes strategic and process reviews on such diverse issues as training needs analysis and job evaluation. I also provide HR and employment law advice and deliver workshops on this to a variety of clients.

Central England

I was at Freemans plc (retail Mail Order) from 1978 until 1998 – a great business to work for with really knowledgeable and capable people. Initially managing and regenerating the quality function, I set up a fabric testing process, including an in-house testing laboratory. Other projects included computerising garment specifications and improving the quality management of imported clothing. I then took two sections of the business through to recognition as Investors in People and one to ISO 9000 certification before moving into Human Resources. In that function I reviewed the recruitment processes, revised the company staff handbook and set up a graduate recruitment process using assessment centres.
