PLC programmer and electrical cabinet outfitter. Part of a team of engineers, at present involved in a project developing an unmanned autonomous submarine. Will be involved in the production of 2 man submarine in the near future. Learning new skills everyday, future learning is going to involve studying C# and C++. Working within the Semi-conductor industry as part of the Implant and Etch departments producing microchips and LED's for several key industry leaders. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of high precision equipment in the Implant and Etch sections and assisting in the Diffusion section which includes the running and daily maintenance routines of the MOCVD tool. Also covering the lithography section as required if other engineers are on leave or extra WIP is present.

Recently started a new business, providing control and logic solutions to industries requiring automation to many tool sets from single pumping units to multiple control and monitoring systems for control of on site facilities. Covering the south west of England serving industries such as public service buildings, rail depots, and food manufacturing sites plus many other areas which require automation systems to be serviced, repaired or installed on existing non automated systems.

Responsible for a productive and efficient workshop to ensure customers requirements are fulfilled within the timescales set. Prioritised and organised work in progress to ensure that strict build procedures are followed and the correct parts are available at all times, liasing with outside suppliers for OEM parts. Attended sites to advise on monitoring and evaluation modifications and then installing systems to reduce running costs. Installs include VSD (variable speed drives) controlled via pressure ,flow or timed control systems. Other installs have included PLC/HMI units for lead and lag control of multi drive systems to allow for maintenance with minimal downtime. Overseeing the quoting stage of the requested job to ensure all man hours and parts costings are correct and liase with customer ensuring that any special requirements are satisfied.

Responsible for the supervision of a team of multi skilled engineers covering 2 factories to perform daily repairs and maintenance of over 100 tool sets. Utilising knowledge of tools and engineering skill base to minimise downtime. Continuos study between failures to implement operating procedures to prevent reoccurrence. Writing of maintenance schedules and safe operating procedures for all departments including line operator manuals to ensure a safe and productive working environment. Liaising with planning and logistics departments to guarantee maintenance operations minimise lead times of products by ensuring tool sets are available within scheduling timelines.

Tool onwer for the CFM chemical cleaners, Chemical clean WET benches and SMIF loaders. Responsible for the scheduling of maintenance and the control of repairs to the equipment. Writing of procedures for safety and maintenance. Liasing with venoders to ensure the correct maintenance is complete at the right time and tools are returned to production in the correct state and spec.

Working in the four separate areas if the factory which are production, packing, fresh cream and sponge areas. Completion of maintenance, repairs and modifications so that different tasks can be carried out with existing equipment without the need to buy in more expensive machines. Commissioning of new machinery when the factory starts a new product or changes packaging. Programming of PLC's to accomodate changing demands on the machines and to make operators work loads lighter.Assisted in the Full automation of a C.I.P (clean in position) system which had to communicate between two different PLC systems.Programmed a Rademaker Line to increase output from 12000uph (units per hour) to 15600uph.Modification of engineering stores system to guarantee correct parts are either in stock or available with minimal lead times to ensure a cost effective department
