I am a qualified therapist and BACP member with lived experience of addiction. I have a business and senior management background.I only work with Addiction. Predominantly Drugs, Gambling and Alcohol. I work in London and Liverpool and anywhere by Video/Zoom.My programme places a lot of emphasis on the first 4 sessions.We’ll look at your childhood, explore trauma, examine behavioural dynamics, look at ADHD and neurodivergence and any co-occurring mental health conditions, your self-image, your psychological well-being, your situation, and your sense of purpose and meaning and where opportunities for change sit. I then write an assessment which outlines what we’ve discovered and what our ongoing focus, for therapy and change, should be. This assessment and the subsequent plan/focus for moving forward are entirely individual. These first 4 sessions and the subsequent written assessment are £500. Every client I’ve worked with has found this first, rigorous, exploration of their addiction invaluable. And it sets us up for success as we continue working together. 90% of my clients are addiction free at the 1 year mark compared with Rehab, Residential and 12-step programmes where success rates sit at 10-15% of people successfully overcoming addiction in the first year. My addiction checklist:i) A behaviour that seriously harms your well-being (and you know it)ii) Where the “high” has diminished significantly (or gone entirely)iii) A behaviour you lack control over (and cannot stop permanently)The extent of the Harm, the lack of the High and the degree of your Control determine the severity of the addiction.I have some availability for clients to start in December. I’ll be off work 20th December-3rd January (though available to existing clients by message/call). The first 3 months of 2025 are going to be very busy. It’s important if you want to move on from your addictive behaviours in 2025 that you get in touch as early as you can - let’s diarise a start date soon. The first telephone consultation is free. This is 15-45 minutes. I don’t penalise clients for no-shows, and if a client doesn’t use all their paid for sessions I’ll refund them. There is no small print.
