Managed today by direct descendants, Hadeco® is an international leader in the breeding, raising, growing and worldwide distribution of flower bulbs, fresh cut flowers and laboratory- in- vitro produced plant material. Hadeco grows over 50 different kinds of bulbs and many cut flower lines. Total own production from 400 hectares (1000 acres) under intensive cultivation produces some 100 million bulbs and 50 million flower stems for sale per annum. This range of products is delivered to over 60 countries globally.My role within this world leading company was the export, import and marketing of flower bulbs for the international markets:-General management of the entire export/import process and supply chain from point of production to final delivery to customers.- Annual transport strategy-Sea freight and air freight shipments, as well as merchant and carrier haulage-Compiling shipping documentation-Managing key international client accounts,-Managing multiple clearing and forwarding agents-Compiling documents for customs clearance-Coordinating multiple service providers -Analysing stock and sales to ensure balance between supply and demand -Oversee team to ensure successful warehouse and transport operations-Work with PPECB and Department of Agriculture-Monitor and evaluate costs to determine pricing structures for clients-Statistical analysis and evaluation of reports-Manage marine and credit insurance operations-Oversee the design, research and distribution of marketing material for the international market-Manage international websites and online sales-Actively involved in the research, design and editing of “The Bulb Book" by Charles Barnhoorn”. Published in February 2013 and is available at all major book stores.- Successfully headed up the audit to have Hadeco certified under Method 2 for SOLAS VGM requirements (June 2016).
