As a policy analyst at the Anti-Money Laundering Unit (AMLU), I play a crucial role in supporting the development of policies that fortify the Cayman Islands Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) framework, aligning it with international standards.In addition, I assist the Attorney General as the prime contact and point of contact for day-to-day national AML/CFT/PF matters. This includes technical support to the Anti-Money Laundering Steering Group (AMLSG), a vital AML/CFT framework component, and competent authorities in meeting their objectives.Monitor international AML/CFT development and prepare policy papers for the AMLSG's decision on critical legislative and international developments relating to AML/CFT and any recommended amendments to the Cayman Islands laws, regulations, guidance, or procedures.Working in tandem with the Head of AMLU, I contribute to developing and implementing the national strategy and action plan for combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. I also foster collaboration among various stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, financial institutions, regulators, civil society, and international partners, to prepare and submit the country's mutual evaluation report and follow-up reports to the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF) and FATF's International Co-operation Review Group Reports.Lastly, I proudly represent the Cayman Islands as a member of the CFATF Steering Group and actively participate in international meetings, championing the Cayman Islands' stance on AML/CFT matters.
