✨Extensive hobbyist, procrastinator, globe-trotter and collector of old things.Passionate educator with a knack for building relationships. Specialising in making learning accessible for all students, who deserve a chance to make a change and achieve their goals alongside a teacher who wants nothing but the best for them.As a secondary teacher, I have specialised in Stage 1 and 2 Society and Culture, Stage 2 Modern History, Stage 1 English, and a range of Middle School Humanities and English subjects. In 2023, I piloted a High-Band class for Year 9 HASS with grade improvements from B to A and C to B across the year.In a Category 2 school, I focus on strategies to support students with low-literacy, learning difficulties, behaviour issues and other complex learning and wellbeing needs. Data-based differentiation, scaffolding and intervention are key to building a successful and safe learning space that addresses students’ needs and fosters curiosity for learning. My work in resource development surrounding the Teaching and Learning Cycle has been adopted enthusiastically and trialled within the HASS Learning Area, with the aim of leading to better outcomes and comprehension within student learning, and help to establish routined learning in the classroom. These resources allow staff to meet our school’s SIP literacy intervention goals. This work, along with my mentoring of other staff members, has led to an exciting opportunity as I have successfully applied for the HASS Learning Area Leader position in 2024.
