As a retrieval doctor of the Newborn Emergency Transport Service I manage sick infants from all over Western Australia and transport them by ambulance or aircraft to Perth for further care. The service operates in the world’s largest retrieval area, spanning over 2500km.

In my role as a clinician I diagnose and manage sick infants and infants born preterm at King Edward Memorial Hospital, and Perth Children's Hospital.

Co-Investigator of PREDICT.The PREDICT study was a world-first clinical study involving a large international team characterizing the maturation of innate immune responses in preterm infants during the first four weeks of life, the period of greatest risk for sepsis. The aim of this study was to identify immunological markers that predict the risk of sepsis. The data collected for the PREDICT study is extensive and currently being analysed.
