Defined the Terminal 2A Building Systems User Requirements.Scope £100m+ Developed a led a series of stakeholder workshops ensuring accurate capture, accountability and responsibility for Aircraft Loading Bridges, Pre-conditioend Air, Fixed Electrical Ground Power, Stand Entry Guidance, Lighting Control, Metering, Water control. Wrote and enabled successful sign off for the 'user requirements' documents.

Defined the T5 Site Interoperability Tests (SIOTS) requirements, ensuring Integration testing, tests people, systems and facilities through realistic operational process scenarios. Value £130m.+ Developed the SIOTS to ensure systems were tested sufficiently to enable Operational proving and final operation. Liaison with T5 Live Operational process teams was critical gaining traceability and validity of realistic operational test scenarios.+ High interface with internal Integration Test team ensuring requirements of the SIOT’s are being met in the test case designs/scripts, infrastructure milestone definition sheets, development of success criteria.+ Managed the Test Case Designs, facilitating their endorsement with the business/integration leads.+ Analysed approx 3000 System ‘Defects’ ensuring operational impacts understood and contingency planning in place.

Defined the T5 IT user requirements from cross-functional and third party stakeholders. Managed the Options & Opportunities Portfolio within the T5 Aspirations Brief. Initiated new technologies through live trials. Dev Project value £130m+ Shaped the solution for the track transit security segregation risk through cross-functional facilitated workshops. Resulted in £2million cost saving and Managing Director/Department of Transport solution approval.+ Developed & led a series of stakeholder workshops ensuring accurate capture, accountability and responsibility for stand allocation with a 5 terminal Heathrow. Secured successful sign off for the Stand Allocation user requirements document.+ Facilitated the introduction of a brand new technology by my ability to persuade Gatwick and BAA Group Design to implement a ‘Smokefree’ systems trial at Gatwick for T5.+ Heavily influenced the IT check-in principles for T5 with self service and bag drop. Successfully extracted business partner (BA) system requirements and facilitated a platform for this innovative technology which is now commonplace.

Developed/coordinated the new ‘First & Last Impressions’ team, delivered all work streams. This department operated the first and last passenger experiences in & out of the airport ie car parking, roads, coaches, taxis, trains.+ Delivered a unique departmental structure and all new job descriptions within the 6 months assigned. Designed & executed an Implementation Strategy to ensure focus and on time delivery.+ Developed a comprehensive communication strategy & recruitment policy with implementation plan, thus ensured excellent staff consultation and involvement. + As sole project source for the General Manager, developed & produced; Business Case reports, all strategy documents & presentational materials for Gatwick Board and Change Steering Groups. Resulted in successful restructure with full Board approval.+ Led detailed analysis of individual tasks and activities via 121 interviews (adapted personal style depending on interviewee), this proved invaluable in ascertaining unknown & important issues.

Responsible for numerous external activities including, road and forecourt management and all onward travel services+ Competently managed individual’s performance, adopted original approach to motivate low morale, recruited new team members, resulted in staff requesting to join First & Last Impressions.+ Developed and implemented a Forecourt Operations Strategy, instigated and chaired the Forecourt Operations Group (FOG), introduced new road coning mechanism, negotiated a new traffic warden priority zone, set up & operated a new contract of Forecourt Welcomers. (first airport in group)+ Developed a reputation for solving road problems, became de-facto Roads Manager at Gatwick!

Responsible for the South Terminal Retail Operation. Facilitated and supported retailers to deliver above business plan. Managed all back of house retail issues with retailers and terminal duty teams.+ Influenced the South Terminal Business Unit to adopt my International Departure Lounge Retail Strategy. One element alone increased penetration into the World Duty Free shop by 3% (350k pa)+ Designed and completed a stockroom & delivery route survey & strategy. Retailers changed delivery routes & stockrooms & in some cases grew revenues from the back of house changes.+ Instigated & implemented the ‘Retail Buddy Scheme’ at Gatwick South Terminal. Retail units and terminal duty teams built new, strong relationships to support the daily operational and retail revenues.

Planning & Environment Manager, Responsible for the comprehensive development of the strategic development zones. Ensured airport land allocated to meet user requirements within strategic framework to satisfy future demand/capacity. Led drawing office (Autocad) team. Departmental IT Coordinator for revolutionary trial BAA project.+ Produced, developed, and communicated several Airport Land-use strategies to Heathrow senior managers, directors and business partners. Successfully produced the Cargo Development, Southside, Passenger Connections and Eastside Masterplan (with British Airways). + Secured planning sites for the Virgin Hangar, T5 fuel farm and a Combined Heat/Power Plant.+ As Project Board Member for 20 projects, ensured proposals met current planning issues: capacity planning, environment, urban design, surface access & other local authority issues.

My detailed action planning, documentation and a strong relationship with Hampshire County Council were instrumental in our success. + From scratch developed an ‘Airport Training Plan’, Airport Communications Strategy, and implemented & operated an open learning centre. Created & planned cultural festivities & special events. Operated multiple events, which involved strict deadlines effective communication and problem solving under pressure.+ Devised operational procedure packages, which improved event efficiency. Developed numerous contingency plans further to operational constraints ie bad weather.+ The excellent operation of ‘Space Week’ a corporate client event with NASA. Created several new cultural events ie Alice in Wonderland Tea party in UK, Tanabata festival in Japan.
