I have recently completed a Master’s research project in Microbiology at the Centre for Biomolecular Science, research institute of the University of Nottingham.The aim of the project was to identify novel compounds against the Pseudomonas aeruginosa Quorum Sensing communication system which is involved in its pathogenicity.In this project, I have discovered 8 compounds with potential anti-virulent activity demonstrating their ability to inhibit toxin production and biofilm formation in P. aeruginosa.My determination and my ability to work accurately and in a multicultural team have been essential to achieving my thesis results.As a Chemical and Biological Technician, I have a good command of basic lab technics and I am able to work in a sterile work environment.
