As an educator and leader with five years of experience in teaching English and developing curriculum, I am passionate about fostering a culture of thinking and learning in secondary classrooms. Currently, I am the Dean of Middle Years at Mount Alvernia College, where I oversee the academic programs for students in Years 7 to 9. In this role, I collaborate with teachers, parents, and students to ensure a supportive and engaging learning environment that aligns with the college's mission and values. Before joining Mount Alvernia, I was the (Acting) Head of Subject for English - Years 9 and 10 at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. I also taught English across junior and senior year levels, and received an award for my exemplary teaching practice and contribution to the school community. Additionally, I have completed multiple certifications in youth mental health, NAPLAN administration, and Cultures of Thinking coaching, which have enhanced my skills and knowledge in these areas. I believe that education is a powerful tool for empowering young people and preparing them for the future. I am committed to providing high-quality and innovative education that meets the diverse needs and interests of young women. I am also keen to learn from and collaborate with other educators and leaders who share this vision.
