Head Of Brand And DigitalCystic Fibrosis Trust Dec 2012 - Jul 2015London, United Kingdom- Developed a digital strategy setting out an approach to enhance digital platforms, integrate digital communications, digitise business processes, and offer digital services to beneficiaries.- Launched a new brand to help address the lack of awareness of cystic fibrosis and the charity, implementing it across all digital and offline channels and platforms; after one year the Trust had risen ten places in the Charity Brand Index, reversing a five-year downward trend.- Launched a new website to better deliver the charity’s needs, including social media integration and processes for event registration and donations.- Developed a marketing strategy to increase and measure levels of engagement among the Trust’s audiences.- Project managed the ‘No Party’ integrated awareness campaign to mark the Trust’s 50th anniversary – almost 3,500 people joined the campaign, including 2,000 whose emails were not on the Trust’s database. Of these, hundreds went on to fundraise or campaign for the charity. - Lobbied for then introduced a social media function to the charity, and oversaw digital marketing activity, including #CFYelfie, a social media campaign which encouraged hundreds of supporters to wear yellow, post an image and donate. -
Marketing ManagerOlympic Delivery Authority, London 2012 Jan 2007 - Dec 2012- Responsible for creating the ODA’s wide range of printed and online communication materials to inform and engage its target audiences.- Established and managed effective working relationships with internal ‘client’ teams, as well as external stakeholders, including the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG), Transport for London, government departments and ODA contractors. - Developed site-based corporate communications, including ‘Park Life’, a bimonthly newspaper used to engender a sense of community among the 10,000 Olympic Park site workers, and convey key health, safety and environment messages to the workforce. A survey found that 70% had seen a copy, most looked at it every 1–3 months and more than half agreed that it made them more aware of the importance of HSE on site.- Led the ODA’s input into the London 2012 website, including redeveloping the site’s information architecture and design to ensure it better supported the ODA’s need to communicate construction progress. This was achieved by developing image and video libraries and a venue webcam section, the latter receiving c100,000 visitors a month after launch.- Project managed and wrote the ODA’s annual ‘milestones’ documents, which described construction progress and future targets, generating successful positive media coverage.- Created a major visitor exhibition for the ODA’s annual event for London Open House weekend telling the story of the construction project to 4,000 visitors.- Developed a website for spectators travelling to the Games, which received c850,000 page views. - Spent three months on secondment to the Government Olympic Communications’ digital team, which was responsible for the Government’s London 2012-related social media channels during the Games: generating content, monitoring and measuring activity.- Managed the editorial team at LOCOG on a seven-month secondment. -
Communications Manager (Publications/Web)Asthma Uk Nov 2002 - Jan 2007- Managed the rebranding of Asthma UK (formerly the National Asthma Campaign). This involved introducing the new brand, brand values and visual identity, and redeveloping more than 100 different printed materials and its website. - Developed integrated marketing solutions to deliver the charity’s services, and involve its varied audiences. For example, an integrated campaign on World Asthma Day encouraged 17,000 people to take an online asthma control test. - Built and managed a team of four, as well as many high-level, cross-organisational projects.- Introduced then managed a new centralised system of print-buying for the organisation, resulting in financial savings and making the rebranding process more efficient.- Radically overhauled Asthma UK’s website, transforming it into a CMS-based site that the charity could use to better market its services, and where visitors could easily access or order health information, subscribe to e-newsletters, register for fundraising events or donate.- Managed the development and production of the charity’s printed materials, all of which were designed to inspire or involve different audiences. These included its annual report, a relaunched membership magazine, research reports and health promotion materials. - Developed ‘Kick Asthma’ – a new identity, microsite and printed materials to engage children. -
