Working with users, designers and engineers we employed techniques such as user journey mapping to guide initial requirements gathering, then distilled these into high priority product backlog items ready for development. Working to a tight timeline with the Development Team we drove MVP iteration based on feedback from a core user group to develop a flexible yet simple product (sourcespace.com) that could be used to manage diverse sourcing event processes.

Starting with a short discovery phase, I worked as part of a team with senior stakeholders and SMEs to define high level product requirements and clearly link these to strategic goals for the organisation. Working with developers and SMEs I transformed these high-level requirements into high priority product backlog items ready for development. Starting with a small UK-based team, I encouraged ways of working and values aligned to the Scrum framework. Once delivery was stable, I drove scaling of the development team through an internship approach where offshore members were onboarded into the UK team, given time to familiarise themselves with the ways of working, and then split out into a separate offshore team. The development team is now capable of delivering value at a rapid pace, while managing dependencies across two geographically separated scrum teams

Selected experience: A multinational oil and gas company had planned a significant transformation in how it managed software delivery across its entire portfolio, but was finding it difficult to coordinate and deliver this change. In the first phase of this project, I engaged with key stakeholders to assess the maturity of two departments towards Agile software delivery. In the second and third phases of the engagement, I worked with stakeholders to identify and prioritise opportunities within these departments and align the proposed changes with the remaining departments. Once inter-departmental dependencies had been identified and managed, I then assisted in the preparation of a change roadmap which is now being successfully executed by this organisation

Pre-sales consulting role, helping clients consider their data management requirements, and allow them to streamline their R&D processes. This might involve facilitating a move towards a paperless lab, enabling clients to unlock data silos to make data actionable, and speed up the capture of new data.
