Together with the Director Airline Marketing we develop the marketing strategy for Berlin Airports. All the areas of the Aviation Marketing Team that I was heading before were integrated into the Airline Marketing Department. The main responsibility of the department is to attract new airlines to fly to Berlin and develop existing airlines. Regular presentations and negotiations with potential companies are conducted either at international conferences, exhibitions or at their headquarters worldwide. In the opening period new clients are accompanied through a wide range of press and marketing activities in Berlin and abroad. On a day to day business promotions, events and advertising campaigns are coordinated with operating airlines. The aim is to strengthen the airlines position in Berlin and to develop their network. In addition the department is looking after the market research and forecasts for Berlin Airports.During my time at Berlin Airports I was responsible for attracting major international airlines e.g. easyJet, Aer Lingus, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Qatar Airways, Hainan Airlines etc. An important part of our strategy is the close cooperation with government institutions and marketing companies, e.g. Berlin Partner, Berlin Tourism, Brandenburg Economic Development Company, Chamber of Commerce etc. Together with them site inspections and presentations in Berlin have been organized.
