I joined to turn around a very poorly performing site, with limited processes and no order bank. Turned a loss into a sizeble profit in 2012 and a Top 10 Balanced Scorecard position.To achieve the results I had to restructure both Sales and Aftersales Departments.

Upon the acquisition of Lind by Inchcape, I transferred to the Inchcape Retail Board and continued to grow the new Audi relationship, I remained as Franchise Director Audi South until asked to take over the 10 Volkswagen dealers in the South of England for Inchcape in September 2008. We improved the site’s performances and gained the opportunity to bid for the UK Flagship Volkswagen dealership alongside the M4; presenting to the VW Board, which we won. The 10 sites formed a triangle from Southend in the East to Cheltenham and Exeter in the West.

I joined Lind Ltd in 1997 (only 3 dealerships at the time) to run a loss making BMW business in Maidstone with very poor CSI and staff issues. Within 6 months I turned the business around to make £350k without losing any of the original management team. In the first full year of my tenure the business returned £780k net profit and won the BMW Dealer of the Year. I was then asked to run the Company’s Flagship dealership in Norwich and to oversee Maidstone, whilst developing a new Dealer Principal to replace me in Kent. Following on from this I started a new brief to improve relations with both Audi UK and Porsche GB and to obtain and grow a MAC Territory in Kent and West Sussex, I took over our then poorly performing Audi Business in Tonbridge and the related Porsche site as Franchise Director. By creating a Winning Team we convinced Audi to award the MAC and set about building a new dealership in Crawley, acquiring Maidstone from Whitehouse Group and Canterbury from BPM, ultimately sold on to Inchcape. Prior to the sale of Lind, I produced and presented the successful tender for the Porsche Territory in Norwich which, along with Tonbridge, remained with Lind Ltd after the sale.

Initially employed as Aftersales Manager, this BMW dealership within the Square Mile of London was then the fourth largest and most profitable BMW Aftersales dept within the BMW Network, with a 28 bay workshop. Promoted to Dealer Principal in 1992, I become the youngest DP in the network at 28 years of age. During my tenure, Cooper Bishopsgate was one of only three dealerships in the country to make £1m net profit in 1993.

At the age of 25 I ran the Aftersales operations from Tabuk to Khamis Mushait in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
