CurrentIn the Van Heesch group, we investigate the role of a novel class of small proteins called 'microproteins' in childhood cancer. We study microprotein functions and exploit their sometimes high tumor-specificity for immunotherapeutic applications, such as therapeutic vaccines. We perform pre-clinical research and combine experimental (sequencing and molecular biology) with computational strategies (bioinformatics). In my role as Project Manager, I am responsible for:- Managing research activities and aligning with priorities and requirements- Coordination with internal and external partners within the large Oncode Accelerator ecosystem- Leading new project exploration, acquisition and definition with academic and private partners- Coordinating and writing funding proposals- Budget and progress management and reporting- Professionalization of the group's structure
