to manage and the implementation of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) within the City of Johannesburg.• Development of the EPWP Policy. Provide professional service to the Department and the public in reviewing development proposals and applications relating to land use (EMPs, EIA’s, EMPRs, BARs) in order to ensure adherence to Environmental policies and Standards, • To protect unique Environmental assets and scarce natural resources (ridges, heritage sites, open spaces, rivers, wetlands, red data plants, and animal species); • To promote sustainability and environmental quality. • Screening of proposed projects to determine the need and level of environmental impact assessment, developing terms of reference for the EAPs, evaluating and interpreting environmental authorizations Compliance monitoring of development applications on sensitive sites. • Coordinator of the project for the appropriate rezoning of the open spaces in the City of Johannesburg to ensure that they have correct zoning and project managing the rehabilitation of Klipriveir/Klipspruit project in Soweto.• Member of the Planning Committee responsible for decision making, site inspections, and hearing of development applications on behalf of the City.
