Engineering Technologist - Design
Current• Checks design drawings for City’s capital projects and third-party developments re: water and sewer for rehab. or replacement works as required for future needs as per City’s engineering design criteria and conformance to Municipal standards and specifications and submit comments to concerned personnel.• Verifying water needs and requirements in new developments and for City’s projects via. hydraulic network analysis by using InfoWater.• Collecting sanitary sewer data through SCADA and other methods for calculating design flows for existing, and future populations (short and long term) in several sewer areas for replacement and upgrades to existing Pump Station(s).• Conducts field inspections of sewer rehab. works. For e.g., sewer main/lateral grouting, manhole grouting, sewer relining, point repairs etc.• Working on watermain and sanitary sewer replacements and rehab. works as a part of Capital Planning per infrastructure’s age, material, type, break history etc.• Maintains liaison with various internal and external contacts on matters related to work, provides technical information and assistance; assists in resolving conflicts and problems between internal and external contacts involving interpretation of design requirements.
