My life story is one of discovery, growth, and transformation driven by a deep belief that learning never stops. Each step I’ve taken has led me towards a life filled with purpose and a passion for helping others unlock their potential.It all started in primary school, where I was asked to be a camp instructor. It ignited a spark in me that continues to burn bright today as the idea of guiding others through challenges and seeing them grow became a source of joy and purpose.As I moved into secondary school, that spark began to grow into a flame as I became a student leader for both my Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) and school. My involvement with Boys’ Brigade was a pivotal experience as I learned what true leadership means. It’s not about authority or control; it’s about service. Leading by example, serving others selflessly, and empowering others became core values that would shape my leadership style.After National Service, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and left home to study in Brisbane. This wasn’t just about earning a degree, it was about challenging myself to be independent and gain international perspectives in a new environment.After graduation, I entered the IT industry as a software engineer and project manager. While I enjoyed coding and managing projects, a part of me knew that my true calling lay elsewhere.That’s when I made another leap of faith and joined Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) as an instructor. This role changed everything for me as I combined my love for leadership with my passion for the outdoors and personal development. I had the privilege of working with countless young people, guiding them through transformative experiences in nature. I saw firsthand the power of the outdoors to help people discover new strengths and perspectives. I transitioned to the programme development team, where I had the chance to design outdoor learning experiences that truly impact lives.In 2021, life took another turn to the chapter on Learning & Organization Development (L&OD). This was a significant shift from working with youth in the outdoors to focusing on workplace learning and organizational growth. I’ve had the opportunity to lead a team that taught me leadership is much more than managing others—it’s about understanding your own strengths and continuously developing the leader within.For me, learning is a lifelong journey, and I’m committed to it until the day I cross the rainbow bridge. My story isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about staying curious, constantly evolving, and helping others do the same.
