I worked as part of the regional management team agreeing regional procedures, implementing organisational policies and implementation of new services.As Service Manager it was my responsibility to ensure that risk assessments were undertaken and that Child Protection Procedures were initiated as appropriate and followed through to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child. I managed a team of therapeutic social workers offering recovery work to children and young people who had experienced sexual abuse.

Within this role I provided therapeutic recovery work to children and young people who had experienced sexual abuse. I also worked with parents enabling them to support their child in their recovery. Using a psycho-dynamic approach I supported children in working through their trauma.

As an EWO I worked with families to understand the issues impacting on them and on their child’s ability to fulfil their academic potential.
