I was hired as a Junior Accountant of the firm on the 1st of July 2024 on a contract term.As a Junior Accountant of the firm, I provide accounting services for a portfolio of clients operating in diverse industries such as Retail, Wholesale, Logistics and FMCG industries.My responsibilities in the company are as follows:• Bookkeeping up to the final trial balance.• Capturing and posting of monthly journals.• Processing inter-account and intercompany transactions.• Processing for clients with multiple accounts, group companies and trusts.• Reviewing supplier ledgers and general ledgers.• Preparing clients’ Annual Financial Statements using Draftworx.• Posting adjusting journal entries on Draftworx for purposes of drafting Annual Financial Statements.• Performing payroll recons and drafting payroll schedules.• Updating clients’ payroll schedules and payroll information on Simple Pay.• EMP201 and EMP501 reconciliations and submissions.• VAT201 reconciliations and submissions.• Developing and maintaining Fixed Asset Registers for clients.• Statutory compliance duties - drafting client documents for CIPC company director resignations, share transfers, minutes and resolutions, public officer resignations, etc.• Liasing with clients to discuss any discrepancies and also to confirm transactions.

Nomainini (Pty) Ltd is a construction company that is based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, that mainly provides tar paving services.My responsibilities in the company were as follows:• Invoicing clients upon the completion of projects for the amounts due.• Generating quotations for services to be rendered.• Performing reconciliations of payments and receipts as per the issued invoices and payments made to suppliers and workers.• Overseeing payments over to SARS for tax purposes as per the taxable income for the period on the SARS e-Filing platform.• Overseeing payments over to CIPC for company registration purposes and operations.• Performing administrative tasks by capturing the company's details on the CIPC platform as well as SARS e-Filing platform.• Monitoring financial transactions.• Communicating with vendors, clients and senior management.• Capturing financial data and maintaining financial records.• Verifying financial and other data such as tax identification numbers.• Ensuring that all documents are signed and properly distributed.• Performing Job Costing calculations through cost analysis methods by using Microsoft Excel and advising on the viability of projects.
