I provide consultation services, specialising in data-driven projects.I have worked as a political researcher with MySociety on their Democratic Commons project.I previously worked with the Open Data Institute, acting as series lead for their first Immersion Programme on Crime and Justice.I also project managed the development of the AidView web application that visualises International Aid Transparency initiative data.

I was the series lead for the Open Data Institute's inaugural Open Data Challenge focusing on Crime and Justice. This work involved: convening experts from the criminal justice sector and defining a set of challenges to be addressed by open data projects; promotion of the open data challenge both online through blog posts and offline at events; supporting two hackathons to generate interest and participation; supporting participants; creation of an open data repository for crime and justice in the UK and working with the Open Data Institute's Open Data Challenge Programme Manager to ensure the success of the challenge.

I led the team's work on open government data, including policy and strategy development. I bid for and project managed the Nesta funded Birmingham Civic Dashboard project which was developed with Mudlark - see http://civicdashboard.org.uk . I was technical lead for projects run by other members of the team. I led on social media. During my time in Digital Birmingham I was involved in creating and running a number of informal events such as the Hyper WM unconference and Brewcamp, a bi-monthly meet-up for people interested in innovative uses of technology in local government.
