My calligraphy workshops are fun, relaxing, nourishing, and rewarding. By the end of my workshop session attendees will be able to re-create a favourite quote, short reading, or their own chosen words beautifully and with great confidence.Bespoke classes are a lovely way of bringing friends, family or colleagues together to do something a little bit different. Teaching beginners the basics of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. Some of the skills covered include teaching the basics of drawing with the pen tool, using image trace to convert photographs and images into vectors, converting lines and text into shapes. By the end of the course, students will be able to create vector art and basic graphic designs for logos, advertising and posters.

Teaching a ten week introduction course into modern calligraphy, taking students from complete beginners and enabling them to become proficient and confident in hand lettering by the time the course ends. Throughout the course students learn about the key skills involved in being a calligrapher, including working with unique calligraphic tools and techniques to create an array of typographical projects. Sessions are a mixture of tutor-led talks, demonstrations, experimentation with artist's materials, calligraphy techniques, one-to-one support and sharing/communicating with peers.

Preparing and teaching a group of twenty 9 to 12 year olds the basic principles of graphic design. Starting each lesson with ice-breakers and introducing new graphic design methods through quizzes and games. Creating a fun brief that is understandable and appropriate for the age group to follow and work towards, including creating their own personal branding using initials then implementing their design in various formats including a logo and a laser cut final project. Teaching students to utilise objects around them for their personal design development and to think about how design is used in everyday life around them.

With my work for PRIMaRE I was tasked with the project management for the redesign and structuring of their current website in order to increase their web presence by reviewing and implementing a search engine optimisation strategy and incorporating various social media site such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to inform stakeholders, local businesses and academics of the research that is underway at the Wave Hub site offshore in Cornwall. Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Officer by setting in place scheduled information updates for the site and investigating the best ongoing means topromote the site online.For Enterprise Solutions I created a content strategy to implement the best possible structure for information on their current web pages taking into account the use of the University CMS system. I also developed a social media strategy to be used for all Enterprise Solutions and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships social media sites. This included setting up and regularly updating content on sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Flickr and YouTube. It also included statistic reports which I prepared for stakeholders to review our return on investment for our targets. I also trained members of the team how to use social media sites to help raise the profile of Enterprise Solutions and KTP.

In my role as senior designer and developer at the WebMachine, I was responsible in managing many areas of the business including project management, website and graphic design, web and multimedia development. Building and integrating e-commerce sites and teaching clients how to use them, attending client development meetings, installing and training clients in the use of CMS systems such as Adobe Contribute. I would also manage domain, hosting and email accounts for over 100 clients.I also worked on the online and offline marketing for the company and managed a junior member of staff in his development in the design industry.
