MODE DESIGN welcomed Samuel and the experience he brought to the firm in the role of Retail Team Leader.Specifically, Sam facilitated and lead the national design team in an international collaboration with Dutch firm Mecanoo Architechen for a global design competition. He also lead his team and was pivotal in submissions, conception and the delivery of various fuel stations, shopping centres, and local, state and federal government work.

Sam specialised in small to medium sized project conception and delivery including master planning, architectural, interior and landscape concept design and development; construction documentation, contract administration, team leadership and management.His ability to conceptualise, master plan and formulate briefs combined with his portfolio and understanding of design, commercial realities, business acumen and construction contributed to his peers and clients referring to him as the consummate all rounder and leader.

Design and Project Architect on commercial, mixed use, resort, leisure and multi residential projects reporting to Directors and responsible for up to 10 staff members of varying disciplines.At the time, was responsible daily for delivering the architectural design and documentation at various stages for projects worth $120M either as built or under construction.Successfully launched numerous projects with clients and directors, through design, liaison and relationship building.Responsible for specific project and staff planning, liaising and reporting to human recourses, the finance department and directors as required.Responsible for delegating and compiling project specifications using the office master specification.Active and contributing member of the office Design, CAD, ESD and Specification Committees performing R&D, office presentations and inductions with new staff.Leading member of the firms Associates Group organising agendas and liaising with the executive directors for monthly management meetings.

Under the direction of Richard, was responsible for administering the completion of building works at 119 Melbourne Street, (at that time) the resident building of Richard Kirk Architects.Responsible for model making and general office administration, and assisted in design and drafting, including being responsible for design for fit out of Malone’s Restaurant, Queens Street Mall.Assisted with concept drawings, physical and 3D modelling of the award winning Cutting Edge Post.
