As Head of the Grant Team, I lead an inter-departmental team which helps researchers of the Humanities Cluster of the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) with attracting external funds, developing creative and social impact concepts and finding strategic partners. The KNAW Humanities Cluster was founded by Huygens ING, Meertens Institute and the International Institute of Social History. It is devoted to innovative, state-of-the-art research in the humanities. We initiate interdisciplinary projects, develop new digital methods and build sustainable digital infrastructure. By connecting with a wide variety of researchers, research software engineers, and other stakeholders within and outside the academic community, we aim to achieve maximal societal and scholarly impact.

AAP is a quarterly, digital journal devoted to sharing creative solutions to challenges in the practice of archaeology globally. It is published by Cambridge University Press. As co-editor I am responsible for content and quality supervision for the journal and dedicate myself to increasing the international scope, contributions and readership of the journal.

As advisor for the Fund for Cultural Particiaption, I help decide on the selection of proposals that relate to the fields of cultural co-creation, museums, cultural heritage and internationalisation.

As a Consultant at Studio Louter, I help our clients and partners to develop creative and innovative heritage experiences, museum exhibitions and academic research projects that tell a meaningful story. My specialties are fundraising, concept development, valorisation, storytelling, policy advise, (interpretive) research, museum studies, exhibition design and setting up research collaborations. Studio Louter is a content design studio that unites all necessary specialties under a single umbrella to develop memorable heritage and museum experiences: research, concept development, fundraising, content production, exhibition design, interpretive planning, multimedia and project management. Our clients include the Mauritshuis, Leeuwarden Cultural Capital 2018, Municipality Dalfsen,Uniersity Bergen, Trinity College Dublin, National Museum Qatar, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Huygens ING, EYE Filmmuseum, NEMO, Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, and the Dutch National Museum of Antiquities.

I was Assistant Professor Cultural Heritage Management at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University, focusing mainly on research, teaching, project management and the development of public policies in the field of archaeology and cultural heritage, as well as outreach products such as exhibitions, websites, educational resources, documentaries, conferences, books and multi-media. Main initiatives included post-doc researcher in the ERC Synergy Nexus 1492 project with fieldwork in St Kitts, head of research subproject 'Archaeology Abroad' at the Archaeology in Contemporary Europe project of the EU Culture 2007, and project manager heritage and outreach at the Tell Balata archaeological Park project (with UNESCO). I also was digital e-editor for the journal ´Conservation and Management of Archaeological Sites´ and advisory council member of Leiden University Mare newspaper.

Researcher and lecturer at the Archaeological Heritage Management Group, PhD researcher at NWO Open Competition research 'Digging Holes Abroad' (Cum Laude 2012), track leader of European Archaeology Abroad research program within the Archaeology in Contemporary Europe project of the EU Culture 2007, consultant on archaeological heritage management projects in e.g. Mali, Jordan, Palestine, Curacao and the Netherlands, and project manager heritage and outreach at the Tell Balata archaeological Park project (with UNESCO). As General Director and Co-Founder of CommonSites, I am responsible for the overall strategy and management of CommonSites, an international initiative that provides a unique web-based platform for crowdfunding and online design solutions for the cultural heritage sector, with clients and partners ranging from ICAHM, Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dutch Ministry of OCW, EU Culture 2007, Leiden University, University of Queensland, International Heritage Group and many more. It unites funding bodies and project partners to benefit local communities.

I was the Senior Liaison and Executive Assistant of the original steering group and founders for the Centre for Global Heritage and Development, an initiative by the 3 University Boards of Leiden University, Erasmus Rotterdam and Technical University Delft. I was in charge of networking, stimulating partnerships and pulling together the strategic vision for the centre, which successfully gained seed funding for its launch in the Fall of 2014.

Providing high quality archaeological site management and public outreach services, specialised in World Heritage Sites, responsible for project management in Palestine, Mali, India and Turkmenistan. Including training, museum presentation, outreach etc.

Developing presentation and outreach strategies for the UNESCO WHS Stonehenge Project, including interpretation and learning strategies for the exhibition and landscape tourism trail.

My work experience included teaching and training of ca 50 MA Students of the UCL MA Managing Archaeological Sites, as well as research management at archaeological sites in Turkmenistan, Palestine, and Mali.

Worked on the outreach and presentation strategy for the Asia-Pacific Unit of the World Heritage Centre of UNESCO Paris.

I worked on a digital documentation, including Virtual Reality, of mudbrick architecture in Mali. This lead to an online resource as well as various (public and academic) publications.
