Tea grower,Kombucha brewer, Fermenter,Currently planted 70,000 tea seeds and 1000 lavender seeds.I sell Kombucha at the Lexington Farmers market on Wednesdays and Charlottesville farmers market on Saturdays in Swing top bottles. Customers can return the bottles for a $3 discount on their next purchase. I wash the bottles and reuse them. I do a lot of bottle washing literally. I spend more time on bottle washing and filling than actually fermenting or brewing or raising plants. I'm a small time farmer hoping to grow big and still somehow recycle glass bottles. When I was a kid growing up in India all cold drinks used to be sold in glass bottles and reused. Somehow we have stopped doing it. Everything seems to be heading to a landfill. Everything is packed with plastic multiple times. It is cleaner I suppose but so much garbage is generated. Maybe there is a middle ground somewhere.
