I am a Junior in the University of Michigan's LSA Honors Program pursuing BA in Philosophy, Politics, Economics with a minor in Creative Writing and Energy Science & Policy. In Summer 2024 I worked for Marketstaff Inc. in Chicago doing Human Resources and Consulting. I facilitated crisis resolution, led and designed compliance initiative to revolutionize storage and organization of employee data, conducted legal research and finalized legal memoranda about employment law/policy, conducted new employee check-ins nationally and prepared successive executive reports, worked with senior leadership to recommend HR priorities, and conducted investigations and wrote an audit of alleged employee misconduct.I am currently the Chair of Recruitment for Michigan Political Consulting (MPC). I have worked as a political consultant for Detroit People's Platform (DPP) and Project on Government Oversight (POGO) at MPC. MPC conducts high-quality, student-run consulting for political campaigns, organizations, and nonprofits. In addition to MPC, I am the managing editor, writer, artist, and layout contributor at U of M's Gargoyle Humor Magazine. In these roles I exercise strong personal skills such as design, collaboration, and creativity while developing hard technical skills such as proficiency in both Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Additionally, I am a board member and editor on U of M’s Xylem Literary Magazine. I review 100+ diverse, creative submissions and meaningfully contribute to rigorous discussion sessions where we vote on prospective pieces. Furthermore, on the editing team, I provide precise and constructive feedback on rejected pieces, which facilitates writers’ growth and personal development. For our 2022-2023 submission cycle, two of my poems anonymously yet successfully endured this review process, and will be published in this year’s issue. Finally, in 2022 I worked on a capstone project team to redesign the curriculum of Evanston Township High School’s Gender and Literature class. We used a human-centered design approach to do research, conduct interviews, and identify/resolve the course's weaknesses. Ultimately, the implementation of my team’s suggestions resulted in the most enthusiastic and complex levels of engagement students had all year, as well as long lasting, positive effects on classroom development and culture.
