- Core architect and engineer of cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices and implentation, automation, and internal systems at Novacoast. Primarily working with AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, GitLab, Ansible, and other tools that align with the DevOps philosophy. Always learning and implementing new tools and knowledge in pursuit of that philosophy.- Primary infrastructure and automation architect for NovaSOC, Novacoast's solution for organizations that need enterprise-level security monitoring without the need for traditional managed security. Daily duties include building, deploying and maintaining Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure in Azure, Helm charts for each component, CI/CD pipelines for rapid builds and deployment, managing an Elasticsearch cluster that ingests several terrabytes of data per day, and monitoring/alerting for critical events. Core toolset consists of Kubernetes, GitLab CI, Helm, kbld and Terraform. Core technologies include Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Kibana, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, and Traefik.- Primary architect of internal Kubernetes clusters for Novacoast. Currently migrating and consolidating applications from legacy Docker hosts to a bare metal Kubernetes clusters configured with Calico and Cilium, using MetalLB for a load balancer and storage backed by NFS.- Primary infrastructure and automation architect for SDLC of internal and hosted applications. Using GitLab, Hashicorp Vault, Mozilla SOPS, ArgoCD, Ansible, kbld, and other tools to create repeatable, idempotent deployment workflows that enable rapid integration with minimal interaction.

At inLife we provided a web tool for people to discover new and exciting experiences in the city of their choosing. The site reached the status of public beta for the cities of Santa Barbara and San Francisco and is no longer available at www.inlife.co.My various duties at inLife included both back-end web development (Amazon AWS, LAMP stack deployment and optimization, development using PHP/MySQL) and front-end web design (Drupal CMS, HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, Javascript, jQuery).I was also heavily involved with marketing and advertising the site. We targeted students through a partnership with the Alpha Chi Omega business fraternity doing student-focused advertising on-campus. We lead meetings with businesses in the greater Santa Barbara county area to discuss participation in our site's booking platform.I worked with a core team of dedicated developers and entrepreneurs, including the two co-founders of inLife, Matt Nishiguchi and Charles Buhler, and marketing intern Natalie Ryan, bootstrapping a startup and taking on many duties at once, setting and meeting deadlines and integrating new ideas in a timely manner.

Worked in a fast-paced environment managing the various aspects of a college dorm dining hall. Moved up to being a student cook, preparing sandwiches and burgers for a 1300-student crowd, and eventually worked periodically in the kitchen helping cooks prepare food in a clean and efficient manner.
