• Designing, implementing and monitoring scalable architecture for Drupal and Symfony based applications• Adding applications to Docker containers for use in AWS ElasticBeanstalk• Analysing existing solutions and making recommendations in order to run in a more cost effective manner• Migrating internal and client facing systems to leverage AWS technologies• Utilising Terraform to create and convert existing infrastructure to version controlled code• Evaluating security and making adjustments where needed• Creating tools to aid in product deployments, rollbacks and automation of backups

My responsibilities in this role include:• Undertaking major rewrites of our most important products, including New Zealand's primary student job search• Architecting the framework for current and future Symfony2 components• Encouraging test driven development and behaviour driven development• Setting up and managing our Continuous Integration service• Getting all products and components into a buildable, testable state

• Development of new features on Drupal applications• Close communication with project managers to design and implement client specific features within timescales• Liaising with client support teams to resolve issues and bug fixing

• Developing bespoke JS frontend and PHP applications and components required by the business• Applications varied from customer financial and billing services, e-commerce shopping carts for the businesses VoIP and broadband products, client and internal support control panels with integrating support to certain suppliers.• All round maintenance on existing components and applications

• Email and telephone support with customers, debugging VoIP telephony configurations, DSL connections and router configurations• Continued to managed the RMA procedure where I was testing and diagnosing hardware issues• Manually provisioning new SMPF/MPF broadband lines with our suppliers

• Hardware provisioning (DSL routers, VoIP telephony, VoIP adapters)• Took over RMA procedures of organising the return of faulty hardware for further diagnosis, either fixing problems or arranging items to be replaced with our suppliers
