Working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant (VRC) for Remploy VR Services, reducing the negative impact of workplace absence, improving performance and minimising costs to businesses by taking a holistic approach to compliment any existing occupational health programmes in place. In addition to providing absence management strategies and back to work plans to employers, I conducted bio-psychosocial and vocational assessments, as well as career transition solutions and outcome-focused support and evidence-based guidance for individual employees.Responsibilities within this short-term contract included direct mental health support for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) within the Access to Work programme, Vocational Assessment activities for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and assessment and case management for British Telecom (BT), as well as Vocational Rehabilitation services for other private employers and insurance companies.This role required that I was able to be sensitive to the needs of the individual or group and work collaboratively to motivate and empower clients to manage challenging situations. Worldwide control of the Wound Management portfolio (value £6.5m). Duties and responsibilities included: Project manage new product feasibility, development and introduction to new and innovative markets in the UK and worldwide; Responsible for budget control, regulatory standards and training of sales and support staff; Coordinated new product development, both internally and externally; Designed and implemented worldwide business development strategies; Primary liaison between our European Sales and Supply Chain Management divisions, ensuring production schedules met forecasts, allowing for the most profitable introduction of product portfolios to new markets / segments.Part of this role included responsibility for the specification and commissioning of clinical research and product trials for both academic, regulatory and promotional purposes and the subsequent evaluation and presentation of data, tailored for different markets and audiences, as well as the interpretation of the results for the purposes of strategic decision making and product market positioning.
