Biography - Dr. Skye Morrison Canadian educator,researcher and designer with a lifelong interest intraditional crafts. She received her PhD in Folklore Material Culture) from the Universitv ofPennsylvania(1991),h er MA in Designa ndE nvironmental nalysisfrom Comell University (1976) and her Diploma in Design (Textiles)from Sheridan College, Canada (1972). She was a professor at SheridanCollege School of Crafts and Design from 1978 to 2002 when she leftfull time teaching to pursue research projects.Skye Morrison is anAdjunct Professor the Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University,Montreal, Since2007 She has been an advisor to the SID Research Cell,MIAD program and is the author (with co-author Jay Thakkar) of Matra Ways of Measuring Vernacular Built form of Himachal Pradesh (2008, CEPT).Since 2010 she has been working with Ayush and Geetanjali Kasliwal ofAnanTaya Decor and AKFD Storey in Jaipur, India for MELA: MindfulEncounters with Local Artisans. She divides her time between India and HastingsOntario where she runs The Doors Guest House and works on Experiential Tourism projects.
