Speech and Language Therapy covers an array of diagnoses and communication styles. Services may directly target a specific skill (e.g. using a speech sound like “s,” building vocabulary, comprehension skills, memory, etc), incorporate desensitization practices, or focus on client and family education.SLP Riley is a private practice in Orange County, CA providing in-clinic or in-home services with options for telemedicine across the state.

Over the course of the Spring 2018 semester I split time between Trapp Elementary and Rialto High School, consistently connecting with the same group of students, adjusting therapy plans as needed in order to reach their goals, and learning the ins-and-outs of the school system; this experience extended far beyond my textbook learning and gave me the hours and certification needed to work as an ASHA approved SLPA. • Obtained 130 hours of valuable hands-on experience, fulfilling ASHA approved SLPA requirements• Built competency & understanding for use of formal and informal assessments, creating service plans and adjusting to individual needs of students • Improved efficiency of working SLP, prepping supplies, stepping in with groups, and organization following therapy
