JMO Victoria represents, advocates and supports all junior doctors on a state-wide basis in Victoria. We provide an online supportive community for all Victorian junior doctors to join. We advocate for and support all junior medical officers (JMOs) in improving welfare, professional development and education and training needs. We are supported by the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV). - Advocate for junior doctors on a state-wide level- Advocate for Victorian junior doctors on a national level via the Australasian Junior Medical Officers Committee (AJMOC)- Coordinate a team of junior doctors who coordinate state-wide initiatives in Accrediation, Education and Training, and Medical Workforce- Improve welfare and reduce barriers to support by supporting a safe forum for junior doctors within Victoria

- Advocated for junior doctors in the domain of Medical Workforce and Recruitment.- Worked in partnership with the PMCV to design the new website, launched in early 2022, including 'Calendar' feature for ease of identification of events, particularly in recruitment.- Provided consultation on the structure and roll-out of the PMCV Late Vacancy Match in 2021. - Spoke at the PMCV 'ACE' event on behalf of JMO Victoria representing the Medical Workforce and Recruitment portfolio.

- Advocated for junior doctors in improving the Medical Workforce Recruitment Experience and Recruitment Processes.- Sought and collated feedback from junior doctors in Victoria regarding the PMCV recruitment match run via the Allocation and Placement Service (APS) and recruitment experience.- Identified key areas for improvements including information delivery, user experience of the platform and recruitment processes including internal match offers and the late vacancy match process.- Developed a strategic plan for the PMCV to address identified areas of improvement.

Rotations: Vascular Surgery, Intensive Care, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracics- Joined the Junior Medical Advisory and Redesign Committee (JMARC) to advocate for junior doctors within the health service.- Identified areas of improvement in surgical rostering and escalated these as appropriate; continuing to liaise with medical workforce to improve rostering for junior doctors.- Supporting a medical intern through the MIMP mentoring program.- Continually attended medical conferences and workshops to enhance my knowledge and abilities.

Rotations Completed: Surgery (General Surgery/Orthopaedics/Ears, Nose and Throat (ENT)/Urology), General Medicine, Emergency, Inpatient Palliative Care- Upheld the highest standards of honesty and integrity.- Accurately identified moments requiring escalation to senior medical staff including deteriorating patients and abnormal laboratory results.- Ensured that time-critical tasks were completed as a priority, including tasks that involved other medical professionals. - Developed trusting relationships with patients and families.- Worked well with nurses, doctors, and medical professionals.- Identified areas for system improvements within the hospitals and raised these issues accordingly.
