The Center for Innovation is a unit we created inside the Chilean Ministry of Education, building on top of a prior organization called Enlaces but expanding its reach and scope to consider all learning areas that have the potential to improve education, not just technology but also practices and contents. During the four years I was lucky to head the endeavor, the amazing team I led was in charge of high impact projects including the expansion of computer science education in K12; the creation of an educational data standard that lay the foundations for digitizing time consuming processes such as taking attendance; explored ways to expand project based learning; and led the expansion of learning management systems while training thousands of teachers to maximize the impact of distance learning during the pandemic.
