As a FFA State Officer, I represented 7,000+ FFA members across the state of Colorado by serving as an ambassador for the organization. This role required extensive travel in order to promote agriculture and youth education. I worked diligently and communicated efficiently with 9 teammates and countless staff and stakeholders in agriculture education. I also made informed decisions on behalf of Colorado FFA in state & national board meetings & delegations. I served a positive role in public relations; educated, motivated and inspired those around me through effective public speaking (both small & large groups); helped plan, prepare for and run state events (meetings, banquets, conferences, conventions); maintained correspondence with industry professionals & supporters; updated social media feeds; provided interviews, press releases & publications at the local, state and national level; continuously sought out mentorship; participated in leadership & personal development opportunities; participated in various educational opportunities; and facilitated leadership workshops to students. As a dorm hall resident assistant (RA) I established a community among 75 residents from diverse backgrounds and made sure they adhered to campus rules. I planned educational and wellness programs for post secondary students across campus. I received training in first aid, CPR and mental health first aid, to point at risk residents towards the right resources for getting personal help, academic help, or any other health and wellness related help.

As a work study for the agriculture department, I had a variety of duties. Some of my main responsibilities included grading papers, organizing files, and making copies. I also answered phones, shopped for supplies, and completed other duties and administrative tasks, when needed. I assisted in planning, organizing, and carrying out District FFA Career Development Event contests and other on-campus activities, including banquets, volunteer activities, and fundraisers. Lastly, I had hands-on agricultural training in the lab, the greenhouse, and the mechanics shop.
